Assistant Brand Manager

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Marketing Manager in delivering the marketing plans for the Seriously spreadable to improve consumer experience and achieve brand recognition, revenue & cash flow targets.

Brand management

  • Participate in the development and presentation of the annual brand plans to the business and key customers (Tesco, Waitrose, etc.)
  • Lead the implementation of the projects and activities included in the marketing plan e.g. range development, promotions, packaging, research, digital etc. and co-ordinate implementation of activities with the sales team
  • Work with the shopper team to implement branded activations as part of shopper marketing process
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with relevant external agencies, factories and Lactalis Central marketing team

 

New product development

  • Develop consumer insight to identify key business drivers and opportunities
  • Launch new products to market from benchmarking, opportunity sizing, researching, retailer sell in and launch activation
  • Lead the product artwork development and approval processes, working with creative agencies and the local Quality team
  • Proactively manage and communicate with the central marketing team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

 

Media

  • Support the Marketing Manager in developing a media assets for Seriously
  • Measure the media campaign effectiveness through the implementation of the Brand Health tracker and the CSI media evaluation tool

 

Business analysis

  • Provide monthly analysis and reporting of the brand performance (sell-in, sell-out, consumer panel), as well as competitor tracking
  • Identify market risks and opportunities to build growth plans in line with business targets and brand goals

 

Finance

  • Manage the brand budget reconciliation and PO creation
  • Guardian of the brand P&L working closely with the FP&A team

 

Sustainability project

  • Lead the sustainability agenda across the entire portfolio of the brand, working closely with the UK lead project manager and central packaging teams, to improve the recyclability of our packaging

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Experience in marketing FMCG (Food industry is a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using systems such as Nielsen/IRI/Kantar
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent English (French language skills would be an advantage but not essential)
