Our UK business has its headquarters in Redhill, Surrey and here you’ll find, both UK businesses serving different sectors of the dairy market.

LACTALIS UK & IRELAND

Lactalis UK & Ireland represents the cheese, butter and cream-making side of our business, delighting consumers with tasty products from brands such as Galbani, Seriously®, Leerdammer and Président.

LACTALIS NESTLE CHILLED DAIRY

Lactalis Nestlé Chilled Dairy (LNCD) is a joint venture business, formed between the Lactalis Group and multinational food business Nestlé in 2006. LNCD specialises in chilled yogurt and dessert products.

IT

Our IT team support and speed up our transformation and growth by putting in place the projects and solutions that are necessary for our business to evolve.

They provide daily service and support to our business and drive process optimisation.

The team:

  • Provide excellent service and support that allows people to work daily.
  • Deliver System change and improvements depending on business needs and priority (important stuff first), on time and to budget.
  • Anticipate change needs and ensure there are no gaps between Operating Systems and team knowledge
  • Ensure our system is permanently updated to the latest technology and is as competitive as possible vs. the market and competitors.
  • Promote the use of single data entry points wherever possible
  • Support teams to get insight from data and develop user-friendly reports/reporting.

Commercial / Sales

Our goal is to be recognised by our customers as a leading provider of shopper-based solutions that drive mutual profitable growth across our brands & own label. We are focused on understanding our customer’s business, having positive multi-level engagement, finding common ground & providing simple insight-led solutions.

The ambition is to develop long term partnerships with our customers based upon the breadth of our portfolio, the strength of our category & shopper insights & our proactive “can do” approach to business. As a team we are experts in all channels & drive growth ahead of the average across Grocery, Convenience, Discounters, Value Retailers, Online and Food.

The team is goal-orientated, makes decisions based on sound commercial judgments & with an ROI mindset with the aim of always keeping it simple. We take a strategic approach to building commercial strategies, have a training plan to improve sales capability & we grow our leaders of the future by investing in succession planning.

Supply Chain

The Supply Chain team aim to offer a high service solution, delivering the right products, to the right place, at the right time, whilst complying with the Group’s high quality requirements and optimising costs and environmental impact.

We encourage and embed a high performance team culture, with a continuous improvement mindset, whilst utilising our relationship with key suppliers and customers to tailor innovative and forward-thinking supply chain solutions.

The Quality Department’s main function is to ensure that our products are safe, of the best quality and comply with all legal requirements. The team work cross-functionally to achieve business objectives, analysing results to anticipate and raise alerts when there are problems.

They focus on the business priorities and the things that add value seeking continuous improvements in results, product quality, business processes and levels of service. Finance

Finance is an essential business partner working across functions providing analytical insights for the management of business performance, future planning and delivery of the company strategy.

The finance team is responsible for protecting and creating value while ensuring financial controls, integrity, compliance and returns on investment.

We are dedicated to the retention and development of our people through both on-the-job and professional training.

Industrial

Driven by a strong performance culture and stringent quality requirements, our production and R&D teams work enthusiastically every day to design, manufacture and package healthy, tasty products that are consumed across UK homes.

Procurement

Do you have the will to get results, have excellent analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills?

Your challenge? To enable trouble-free operations for all entities within the Group by negotiating procurement of ingredients, packaging, supplies, equipment, and various other services.

APPRENTICES & INTERNS

Nurturing the talent of the future

OUR PROGRAMMES

As a company with a global scale that prides itself on developing talent from within, we can offer employees early responsibility in their careers, and provide opportunities for personal development that reward performance.

We’re continuing our commitment to develop future talent through our established Internship and Apprenticeship programmes. 

We currently have 5 apprentices working in our cheddar factories in Stranraer and our established head office intern programme:

Engineering Apprentices

In our cheddar factories in Stranraer, we have two Engineering Apprentices. Their apprenticeship takes approximately 4 years with day release to college in years 1 and 2 and then they will complete a Modern Apprenticeship coupled with gaining significant experience and developing a portfolio in years 3 and 4.

Further Studies

Also in Stranraer, we have a long-serving member of staff currently studying for a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management (part time) at the University of Strathclyde.

Eden Programme

We have two Process Support roles in our cheese & powder operations in Stranraer. Whilst learning our manufacturing processes, the recruits are also studying via distance learning for a foundation degree in Dairy Technology at University Centre Reaseheath.

Head Office Intern Intake

We are also increasing our intake of interns who work for us as part of a 4-year university degree. In 2023, we recruited 7 interns.
